After a long absence, we’re back! Our first guest after the hiatus is Suzanne Hobbs representing Safe Haven. Suzanne is an Idaho native who moved to Las Vegas a few years ago. She left a career as a news reporter and anchor to focus on helping young moms with Safe Haven laws. She’s the author of an Amazon best-selling children’s book, The Hungry Snake. Suzanne has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and has been named one of the 100 most inspiring women in the world.

Helping Young Moms with Safe Haven Laws

Suzanne shares her powerful story of how she found out about Safe Haven laws. This goes back to her time as an investigative reporter in Idaho. It turned into more than just another news story for her and had a profound impact on her own life. Her advocacy of Safe Haven laws has helped thousands of families bring children into their lives.

If you’re not familiar with Safe Haven laws, Suzanne describes the intent of the law to help protect newborn babies. She also talks about some of the details of how the law works here in Nevada and also in Idaho. We discuss the future of a federal Safe Haven law and Suzanne’s efforts to make that a reality. In the interview, Suzanne also shares resources you can use to find out what the Safe Haven laws are in your state.

We talk about Suzanne’s experience writing her Amazon best-selling book, The Hungry Snake. She tells us about how she came up with the idea and her journey to becoming a published author. Suzanne shares some advice for aspiring authors on how they can take their own publishing journey as well.

If you’re interested in helping promote the National Safe Haven law, Suzanne is always looking for donations to the National Safe Haven Alliance. She also is available to speak at events or conference if you are looking for speakers.
