Emotional Intelligence in Leadership Workshop
Recent research shows that organizations with high levels of Emotional Intelligence in leadership are likely to improve overall results, reduce turnover, reduce fraud and improve employee performance and morale. This 4-hour workshop helps employees become emotionally intelligent at work so that they can be their most productive self. Students are shown how to be more aware of their feelings as well as learn how to recognize and understand what drives their moods and the moods of others. We discuss the benefits of regulating emotions and becoming Emotionally Intelligent in the workplace. We provide tools to help students regulate their emotions to prevent becoming overwhelmed and distracted. Participants leave the workshop prepared to become their best versions of themselves personally and professionally.
In this 4-hour workshop we explore how mentorship fits into good leadership. We ask students to discuss their experience with mentorship and why mentorship is important. The importance of the mentor-protégé relationship is a central theme of this workshop. Tools for finding mentors and protégés and building effective relationships are highlighted. We emphasize career development for protégés and how mentors can help them set effective goals. We conclude with a discussion of how to build a culture of mentorship across the organization.
Organizational Culture Workshop
Over the course of 4 hours, students will learn what influences organizational culture as well as the impacts of that culture on team success. We discuss elements of culture such as vision, mission and core values and how tools and systems reflect and reinforce the culture. We focus on helping students assess their current organizational culture, determine the desired culture and what actions to take to implement and maintain that culture. Leadership development, succession planning and individual career development are highlighted as valuable tools to influence the organizational culture.
Cross Generational Leadership Workshop
Many organizations have been faced with the "Millennial Problem" and how to deal with cross generational leadership differences. In a 4-hour workshop, we show students how the problem is not unique to Millennials or any generation and give them tools to communicate and collaborate across generations. The workshop covers the events and factors that shaped each generation, basic communication theory and barriers to communication between generations. We help students build trust across generations through setting clear expectations and giving effective feedback as well as use negotiation skills to create win-win solutions to organizational problems.
Leadership Fundamentals Workshop
This 4-hour workshop focuses on helping each student understand the leadership fundamentals they need to develop their own unique leadership style and the key traits they will need to live up to their personal core values. We discuss how to build trust with others using the concepts of accountability, responsibility and authority as well as how to set solid goals and expectations along with how to give effective feedback. The workshop concludes with a team-building exercise that ties together the lesson modules from earlier in the day. Delegation, effective leadership the importance of leadership development are themes that are emphasized throughout the workshop.
